| Mission Statement:
Bathcrest of Seattle is seeking to offer high quality and affordable bathroom fixtures, specializing in antique replicas. Based very close to Seattle, Washington where the winters are mild, yet very rainy and nippy, a nice hot bath is a luxury almost anyone can relate to. Basically, we like to enjoy the therapy of a relaxing bath that very adequately takes the chill right out of your bones. One of our customers recently commented that she thought that one of the stress factors of our current society is that people have forgotten the value of "lingering in the tub". It's very hard to linger in a shallow tub that has vertical walls. That's where the clawfoot comes in. While characteristically deeper than most of the modern tubs, its cast iron structure with the fired on porcelain interior holds the bathwater nice and hot for a longer period of time and the slanted back was definitely a more thought out design for relaxing in. The new porcelain tubs can also be ordered without faucet holes drilled into the tub. This actually provides the benefit of a full FOUR INCHES more of water since the overflow hole is up that much higher. The faucets can then be mounted at center on the wall for an attractive look, or, at the end of the tub which is a convenient application for remodel projects where the hot and cold supply lines are already coming from that location. Another feature which bears mentioning here is the wonderful conversation piece that the clawfoot bathtub adds to your home. One of our customers who lived at a beach actually installed one right in her dining room, fully functional so she could sit in it and look out at the beach! We trust you will be able to make your dream of such a tub come true. |
