: : Hi,
: : What is the process to restore an antique porcelain tub that has the following situations?
: : 1. Chipped or gauged porcelain?
: : 2. Porcelain missing down to the cast iron, and cast iron is corroded in the same area?
: : What process is started first, restoring the outside or restoring the inside?
We are about to purchase an old tub that has a chip down to the iron and would like to know if it's possible to repair the chip without refinishing the whole tub, which we like the way it is now. The chip is below the waterline. Could you recommend someone with real experience in such repairs (not just a whole tub refinisher)? We live in the Studio City area of Los Angleles, zip is 91602. Thank you for your help.
